Nikki von Kern is the most adorable 12 month old mini shepherd mix we've seen. She looks like a miniature version of a German Shepherd and weighs in at 15 pounds. We rescued her from the shelter only to find out she was pregnant. Nikki had 2 beautiful puppies that look like shepherds (mixes) to us. (bigger) The pictures we took of Nikki were before her pups arrived and she has since blown her coat so she looks even smaller now. Her coat will come back soon enough, but she will make a wonderful addition for a family looking for a small dog.

Nikki  is very playful and affectionate.  Nikki loves my eight-year-old daughter and does very well with my four-year-old niece.  She loves to play fetch and run around the backyard.  Nikki gets along well with my two female Chihuahuas and loves to lie in the sun with them in the morning.  She rides wonderfully in the car and is housebroken.  She sleeps all night in her crate without any fuss.  She's a sweetheart.
